Pop-Up Art

Between conference calls, my husband went to get his braces off. After more than a year of being the only guy in the orthodontist’s office with a 401K, I figured he deserved a surprise. So while he was in the chair, I decorated his parking space.

Since we can’t travel or plan, the local and immediate have become all the more dear. I think my better half was embarrassed a bit that the neighbors would know. But that was exactly the point.

I may have flubbed it with my main audience, but am holding out for a secondary effect. The Red Line El train, which pre-COVID sent 10,000 people a day past our parking lot, still holds essential workers as well as those just trying to get warm. Hoping at least one person smiled back.
