Ice Cosmos
Even freezing temperatures have their upside.
Into an 8 x 8 Pyrex baking dish went 1/2 inch of hot tap water and two drops of watercolor paint.
It took all night to freeze solid even at 28 degrees F, probably because I did it on a balcony. But in the morning, I had my own icy nebula.
It’s no secret that cold weather is isolating and grim. But, as my melting masterpiece will attest, it is also temporary.
